Anthe ("we", "our", or "the app") is a garden management application developed by Frederik Gielsen. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Anthe iOS app.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data, solely to provide and improve app functionality:

All data is collected for App Functionality purposes only. We do not collect data for tracking or third-party advertising.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Account management — to create and maintain your account via Firebase Authentication.
• Data synchronisation — to sync your gardens, plants, and journal entries across devices via Firebase Firestore.
• Plant identification — photos you submit are processed to identify plants and provide care advice.
• Seasonal guidance — your location is used to deliver climate-appropriate gardening recommendations.

3. Third-Party Services

Anthe uses the following third-party services provided by Google:

• Firebase Authentication — manages user sign-in securely. Processes your email address, name, and user ID.
• Firebase Firestore — stores and syncs your app data in the cloud.
• Firebase Analytics — collects aggregate, anonymised usage data (e.g. screen views, feature usage) to help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This data is not used to personally identify you.
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and device diagnostic information (device model, OS version, crash stack traces) to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash data is not linked to your personal identity.
• Firebase App Check — protects our backend services from abuse by verifying that requests originate from the genuine Anthe app.

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the Firebase/Google services described above, solely to operate the app.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data (profile information, gardens, plants, and journal entries) will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymised analytics data may be retained for up to 14 months.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS), Firebase security rules, and App Check verification. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data.
• Portability — request a machine-readable copy of your data.
• Objection — object to the processing of your personal data.

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app by navigating to Settings > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your account and all associated data.

9. Children's Privacy

Anthe is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Anthe after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
